Recently I decided to start collecting Vinyl LPs. they're not as convenient as CDs or MP3s by ANY means, but personally I think they sound better and they give me a feeling of nostalgia (Plus most of the newer albums come with coupons for FREE DOWNLOADS of the MP3s, so... XD)

Current collection stands at 7, with the latest addition being the Flight of the Conchords album I got at their performance Saturday at Red Rocks!! So its not a BIG collection but I'm working on it!! LOL

Am I the ONLY person in the world that HATES the Saw movies, and is outraged that they've become the "Big thing" at Halloween?! XD

So I wa looking at my gallery stats over on DA a minute ago, and apparently I'm busiest on Wednesdays!

Idk why but I found that amusing! XD

On September 12th, Activision announced the tracklist for the upcoming "Guitar Hero: World Tour", and after going though the list and comparing it to the tracklist for "Rock Band 2", i am ALL KINDS of excited!!

Now dont get me wrong! There are alot of GOOD songs on both games, with both games featuring "American Woman", "Eye of the Tiger", "Float On", "Lazy Eye", and "Livin' on a Prayer", And Rock Band has some strong tracks (With "Any Way You Want It", "Chop Suey!", "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Let There Be Rock", "Nine in the Afternoon", and "White Wedding (Part 1)" being some of my favorites! XD)

But based on my taste in music, Guitar Hero is the direction I'm going! Between "Beat It", "Crazy Train" (Which I've been waiting for since GUITAR HERO II), "Hotel California", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Band on the Run", and the two tracks from Jimmy Hendrix, I'm pretty much set! XD

So I was walking to the mall the other day from work, and as I was doing so I passed this sign:



SO naturally I did what any sane person would do... I stood under the sign and stuck out my thumb!! Hahaha

I'm starting rethink this whole Live Journal thing.... XD

Curiosity is starting to get the best of me, and apparently its NO BUENO to post on MY LiveJournal multiple times a day (I'm looking at YOU, GG!! o.O XD)

So I went to McDonalds tonight after class. I saw they had LEGO Batman happy meal toys, and I thought "Hah, I love LEGO, and I love Batman! Little LEGO sets based on Batman? That's AWESOME!!"

So I get the happy meal, and I grab the toy outta the box. But what do I get? A crappy little helicopter that's NOT made of LEGO pieces! How can you give away LEGO toys that aren't LEGO?! That;s like selling coloring books with colored pages! Hahaha

So because I bought the happy meal on the basis that I would be getting a LEGO set, but I didn't, I give McDonalds' an Epic Fail....

....And I guess I give myself an epic fail as well for buying the thing, thinking I would get an ACTUAL LEGO set! XD

For those of you that know me, (the 3 of you that read my LJ! XD) you may or may not know that I have a STRONG dislike for the Rock Band videogame franchise. but you may find yourself, like I did today, asking "Well, WHY do you dislike Rock Band so much? it's got great music, and the character creator section is fun!" (I've never actually been presented with a counter-argument other than "Well, you're just dumb", so I ASSUME this it what someone would say to me! Hahahah). So after thinking about it for a bit (read: the rest of my afternoon after lunch, when I should have been working), I've come up with a couple of reasons for my dislike for the game:

1.) I've always been opposed to Microsoft, and more specifically, X-Box. I grew up, like most of us, on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES, duh! XD), which was followed shortly after by the Super Nintendo. After a number of years, instead of moving up to the N64, I moved on to the Playstation. Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, these were the center of my gaming life for years, until the PS2 came out and I upgraded (Read: I got it from my dad as an early Chirstmas present, cause he thought there was Wine in the box! Hahaha) ANYWAY, long story short, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, and now PS3. In all my years of gaming, only ONCE have I come across an XBox or 360 exclusive game that has made me wanna buy the system, and after playing it at a friends house, I decided against it (cause it turned out to be a SHITTY game, despite what X-Play said! XD). I have NO REASON to own a 360, so why would I want a game that is catering directly to 360 demographic?

2.) I hate Metallica. I know I'm gonna hear shit for this, but I dont care! XD I don't like their music, just like how I dont like Guns & Roses, and like G&R, there are only TWO songs I find tolerable from Metallica (and frankly it doesn't matter which ones! LOL) So if I dont like a particular band, WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH would I want a game that is 25% Metallica songs? XD

3.) Pick and play around with an ACTUAL Rock Band guitar (not third party)... Now pick up a Guitar Hero guitar (again, Not 3rd party)... now tell me with Guitar feels like a sturdy piece of equipment, and which feels like the Cardboard it came in could survive a greater beating? I know this is PURELY personal opinion, but prefer a guitar controller thats not gonna snap in half if I sneeze violently while playing it!! Hahaha I've heard that the Guitar for Rock Band 2 is supposed to be sturdier, but see part 1 why I dont care for at least another month! XD

Quick List:
4.) the drums are loud and unresponsive
5.) Yes you can change your cloth, but you still like every OTHER create-a-character! XD

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons someone can give me for why Rock Band is better than Guitar Hero, and I'm the major argument will be that "Well, Rock Band did the full band thing first, and GH: World Tour is just copying!", and to that I say "Then why do all the videos I've seen recently show people playing the game on Guitar Hero equipment? Cause its made better!" (watch the X-Play review, Watch the drummer and you'll see what I mean! XD) Microsoft has proved (to ME at least) that being the first is NOT always the best! (I mean when was the last time your Playstation or Nintendo system got the "red ring of death"?!) Its like the adage says: "Great things come to those who wait!", and That's why I say "shove off Rock Band! I'm waiting the month and a half for Guitar Hero: World Tour to come out!!"

How you ever been in the position where you THINK you know what going on, but you're not sure because you're not getting any sign one way or another from the people around you, so you're left to your own devices, but those are almost as confused and turned around as it would be if you WERE getting help from other, so you have nothing left to do be just throw your hands in the air and go "FUCK IT!!!"


....Yeah, me neither! XD

I gotta stop playing Basketball at Lunch at work.... I only have 7 more fingers to break!!

So this year was prolly the best (or rather my favorite) KAHN to date! It was great to meet Colin, and finally put a voice and a face to the years of sarcasm that is Sam! XD

However, the one thing I have noticed, that besides the literally HUNDREDS of dollars I sent and the sweet joystick trophy we won for Rock Rand, there's no proof I was ever there! O.o haha

There are no pictures of me in ANY costume (there were 2-ish), and the one video has me dancing around like a fool behind a TV!!

....How odd.... ¯\(º o)/¯

So I'm trying to get more involved, so here it is. I try to post more regularly (read: infrequently), but for now this is good enough since my boss is prolly walking by.... right.... NOW!!
